  • Minimum 5 years relevant work experience in a Systems Engineering or Software Engineering role in a Software Development team.
  • 2+ years of experience with at least one modern Object Oriented programming language such as Java, Python, Javascript, GoLang or C#.
  • 2+ years of experience developing enterprise applications in a cloud environment.
  • Demonstrable experience building web-based applications using modern web-development frameworks such as React, Vue, Angular, Django or Express.

AccSys aims to maximize security, scale and usability of these systems for all of Amazon.com. The AccSys team at Amazon is looking for a highly driven, detail-oriented Systems Development Engineer to join their team. In this role you will directly impact the future of Physical Access Control Systems at a global scale, by developing systems and software that you are proud to showcase to your peers and the business around you. Like a Software Developer, a Systems Development Engineer is a builder with extensive expertise in Software Engineering, Big-O performance optimisation and can solve big problems with algorithmic complexity. The difference is that the Systems Development Engineer will leverage deep knowledge in networking, operating systems and cloud technology to add value. You will be empowered to work autonomously amongst peer engineers, helping to drive innovation, creativity, system resilience and reliability across. Key job responsibilities • Develop infrastructure-as-code software to stand-up large distributed services. • Design fault tolerance and disaster recovery solutions. • Identify and remove scaling bottlenecks in large-scale distributed systems. • Develop and maintain software that is deployed into AWS services around the globe. • Work with other engineers to build and manage massively scaled services. • Work with other engineers to diagnose and resolve customer issues. • Understand and implement security and operational best-practices.   • 3+ years of experience developing web-based applications using JavaScript, Python and AWS Cloud Technologies.
  • Experience administrating Linux and Windows based systems.
  • Experience building highly-scalable globally-distributed systems.
